Interoperability

Image

we need some times to convert our model set into another type of sets to open it in another program, the reason for that is to make it work in another way compatible with specific task, or to extract different kind of information for structural or  environmental analysis reason or so, but the most common reason for exporting files are  the limitations of typical design software, especially when we need to build complex forms.

typically, designers would prefer to transfer their work into BIM tools such like Revit and ArchiCAD, and  they use Conversion tools such like, Geometry Gym and Hummingbird.

we will  try to introduce the participants to the idea of interoperability by  introducing the BIM concepts, and then by do a small exercise in how to import and export  IFC files between the Parametric tool and the BIM tool.
