Origami

In this Experiment, I started exploring the potentials of using physical modelling in creating folded surfaces, Physical modelling is one of the different methods used in creating such structures. one of the best applications of foldings is the famous Japanese Origami shapes.

Origami Structures are created by folding thin surfaces like papers and carton in specific order to form beautiful shapes. the surface is divided into smaller surfaces, each edge of these small surfaces is folded either positively or negatively, and that create kind of valleys and hills. each edge is rotated according to specific angle and pressure, and that create at the end almost a beautiful form.

In this Experiment, I only used simple surface without organisations or reference, only the Kangaroo tools in Grasshopper, which allow the model to fold, but you still need to design the mesh surface.
